About Me
Hi, I’m Courtney Evans, a User Experience Designer, creative thinker, and advocate for designs that put people first. My journey into UX began with a love for art and photography—expressing creativity in every form I could find. I didn’t know design could be a career; I just knew I loved creating. That passion grew during my studies at Full Sail University, where I honed skills in graphic design, motion graphics, photography, video editing, and web development. It was there that I discovered the power of design to connect, communicate, and solve problems.
I’ve always been drawn to solving problems and finding clarity in complexity. From my early days designing digital art to leading UI/UX projects at SunSpear Games, I’ve learned that great design happens where empathy, strategy, and creativity meet. Whether I’m reimagining a game’s interface or crafting a website that connects businesses with their audience, I’m driven by a desire to create experiences that feel intuitive and impactful. My keen eye for detail ensures that every element of my designs not only serves a purpose but is polished and cohesive.
My Story
Growing up, I loved art, photography, and anything that allowed me to express creativity. But it wasn’t until I attended Full Sail University that I truly understood what design could be. As I explored everything from graphic design to motion graphics and web development, I realized that design wasn’t just about making things look good—it was about creating solutions that worked for people.
One defining moment came when I started editing websites and received feedback about my "crazy" design choices. I wanted my work to stand out, to be bold and compelling. But this feedback taught me an invaluable lesson: the importance of familiarity. A design can’t just be exciting; it needs to be functional and recognizable to the user. This sparked my passion for studying user experience, where I discovered the delicate balance of creativity and usability.
Why I Design
Every project starts with a puzzle—understanding the audience, the goals, and the constraints. I thrive on the research, the brainstorming, and the prototyping. But what I enjoy most is the testing. Testing and refining a design reveal how closely it connects to the audience and meets their needs. Each project is uniquely challenging, and that’s what keeps me inspired. My attention to detail ensures that every iteration adds value and creates a seamless user experience.
When I’m not at my desk, you can find me exploring survival games, chasing after my two huskies (Luna and Ysera), or enjoying a caramel-flavored coffee. Every experience, big or small, fuels my creative process and reminds me why I do what I do.
